STATESBORO, Ga. – A late equalizing goal by Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC put a damper on a record-breaking night from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium, where South Georgia Tormenta FC scored two goals on the night to eclipse its total goals scored record from 2022. Northern Colorado fought hard for all 90 minutes, though, and earned a point via the 2-2 result on the night.
Kazaiah Sterling scored both goals for the South Georgia side, following up on a missed penalty kick in the 21st minute and scoring from the penalty spot in the 43rd minute.

Trevor Amann scored the first for Northern Colorado in the first half, giving TFC the advantage heading into the halftime break.
Sterling had an opportunity to score a hat trick in the evening, but he missed his penalty in the 70th minute, leaving the door open for Hailstorm FC to grab a late equalizer.
And the visiting side did.
In the 93rd minute of the game, Arthur Rogers assisted Mark Hernandez, and Tormenta FC was unable to find a late game-winning goal thereafter.
Following Wednesday’s match, Tormenta FC’s attention now quickly turns to a showdown against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC at 7:30 p.m. ET from CHI Memorial Stadium in East Ridge, Tennessee on Saturday, Aug. 26 (ESPN+). The match between the two regional rivals will be the third and final one of the season, with Tormenta FC already winning the first two meetings.
