STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC seeks to continue its undefeated streak on the road as it visits Forward Madison FC. South Georgia has a significant opportunity to get back in the win column following a 5-5 draw at home against Greenville Triumph SC. Tormenta FC takes on Forward Madison this Saturday, July 16, at Breese Stevens Field, at 8 p.m. ET.
In a battle between third and fourth place, the winner of the match would distance themselves from teams below them and apply pressure on first and second place.
Three games in seven days for Tormenta FC saw it obtain its first victory at home against Chattanooga Red Wolves SC last Saturday and a 5-5 draw against the Triumph on Wednesday night. Four points in two games at home for Tormenta FC is an essential step in pushing for a playoff spot as the second half of the season commences.
Tormenta FC has been impeccable on the road, earning three wins and two draws.
South Georgia scored its first two goals at home in the first encounter between both teams. However, Madison was able to get a draw out of a demanding Erk Russell Park environment. Madison is coming off a 2-1 win on the road at Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC last Tuesday, July 5. With a long break between its matches, Madison has the more rested legs going into Saturday night.
Following Saturday’s match, Tormenta FC will host North Carolina FC on Saturday, July 23, at Erk Russell Park, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
