Player of the Month Nominees:
Jhenesis Ellerbe, Defender: As team captain, Ellerbe has led Tormenta FC on and off the pitch this month. While on the field, Ellerbe has proven to be a strong defensive presence, helping the reigning USL W League champions to strong performances throughout May.
Emma Tucker, Defender: Tucker has impressed in the backline since arriving at South Georgia. A constant threat on the wing, Tucker commits to defending every game while being a menace to opposing defenses. Tucker assisted Tormenta FC’s lone goal against SC United Bantams last Thursday as well as assisting in Tormenta FC’s game-winning goal at home against Tennessee Soccer Club.
Gemma Jefferson, Midfielder: Jefferson has established herself as the midfielder who influences the game in a positive way. Jefferson’s ability to control the midfield and create opportunities allowed her to stand out.
Tess Werts, Midfielder: Werts scored the lone goal of the game against SC United Bantams last Thursday. Werts has featured in every game for Tormenta FC. The Utah State midfielder has been the most consistent player for Jim Robbins across every line.
