STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC is set to take on Forward Madison FC for the first time in 2023 this Wednesday, June 28, from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET. In the first fixture between both sides this season, Madison will aim to get its first-ever victory in Statesboro, Georgia, meanwhile Tormenta FC will be looking for its first win in five matches.
Tormenta FC suffered its seventh loss of the season against Union Omaha in Papillion, Nebraska. Midfielder Kingsford Adjei returned to action after several weeks of inactivity due to injury. Defender Davey Mason was named Tormenta FC’s Player of the Match following 40 passes, eight recoveries and winning six duels.
Against Madison, the home side will aim to get its second regular season home win with most of the team being available for selection this Saturday. In 2022, Tormenta FC finished the season series against Madison with a win, a draw and a loss with the only home game being played on June 19, with defender Jake Dengler and midfielder Adjei scoring.
Midfielder Matheus Cassini is still recovering from previous injuries, making him unavailable for selection.
Following Wednesday’s match, Tormenta FC is set to travel for the second time this season to Lexington, Kentucky, to take on Lexington SC next Sunday, July 2, at 7 p.m. ET from Toyota Stadium.
