STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC forward Kazaiah Sterling was voted the South Georgia Tormenta FC Player of the Month (USL League One) for July. The talented striker scored four goals and provided one assist during the month of July, securing the all-time leading goalscorer title for Tormenta FC’s League One side.
Tallying goals from the ground and in the air, Sterling also recorded eight chances created for the team.
The winner was determined via a weighted average from the following three voting bodies:
- A fan vote comprised 60 percent of the poll.
- The Tormenta FC staff ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.
- Media ballots comprised 20 percent of the poll.

Sterling earned 52.86% of the total vote, with attacker Mukwelle Akale coming in second with 24.64%. Defender Nick Akoto and midfielder Matheus Cassini followed at 13.93% and 8.57%, respectively.
After a stellar month, Sterling and Tormenta FC shift their attention to a midweek clash against Central Valley Fuego FC on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at 7:30 p.m. ET from Optim Sports Medicine Field at Tormenta Stadium (ESPN+). Tickets to the match can be purchased here.
