STATESBORO, Ga. – Needing a positive result, South Georgia Tormenta FC heads west in preparation of an important USL League One clash against Northern Colorado Hailstorm FC. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. ET from Future Legends in Windsor, Colorado, on Sunday, Sept. 10 (ESPN+).
Tormenta FC enters the match with a 9-12-5 (W-L-D) overall record, having recently suffered defeat to One Knoxville SC on Sept. 1. As the race to the League One Playoffs intensifies, Tormenta FC will look to its dynamic attacking talents to provide a spark on the road. Pedro Fonseca, who was named Tormenta FC’s Player of the Month for August on Friday, will look to continue his strong form into Sunday’s contest. Kazaiah Sterling, meanwhile, has a team-high 12 goals scored in the regular season and will be hoping to pencil his name on the score sheet once again.
Northern Colorado currently holds a 13-5-7 record and sits second in the overall standings, having recently defeated Lexington SC 3-2 at home on Wednesday. The Hailstorm are 8-2-2 at home this season and will look to Trevor Amann, who leads the league in goals scored with 19, and Arthur Rogers, who leads the league in assists, to be the difference-makers on Sunday.
Defender Jake Dengler remains questionable to return to the sideline, while Head Coach Ian Cameron and defender Nick Akoto will also not be on the sideline, serving suspensions due to red cards on Sept. 1. Defender Deshawon Nembhard is not available for selection, as he is on international duty with the Belize Men’s National Team.
Following Sunday’s match, Tormenta FC turns its attention to a road match in Cary, North Carolina, where the team will play for a second time this season. The away match against North Carolina FC will kick off at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday, Sept. 16 (ESPN+).
