STATESBORO, Ga. – South Georgia Tormenta FC continues its 2024 preseason campaign in the Huntsville City Blastoff Battle. The tournament will take place on Feb. 16 and Feb. 18, playing a match against the Chattanooga FC and Huntsville City FC.

The four teams set to participate in this tournament are Huntsville City FC, MLS NEXT Pro’s newest addition, Chattanooga FC, University of Alabama Huntsville and last but not least, Georgia’s very own South Georgia Tormenta FC. The first match will be against the new MLS NEXT Pro team, Chattanooga FC. Prior to their move to MLS NEXT Pro, Chattanooga FC played in the National Independent Soccer Association (NISA). In 2023, Chattanooga FC had an impressive record of 15-8-2 (W-D-L). Over the course of the 2023 season, they scored a total of 41 goals and conceded only 12 the entire season.
The second match will be against the hosting club, Huntsville City FC on February 18th. In the 2023 season, Huntsville City FC scored a total of 44 goals and had a season record of 9-7-12 (W-D-L). As for South Georgia Tormenta FC’s 2023 season, the team gathered 53 goals under their belts and kept a record of 12-6-14 (W-D-L).
Following the Huntsville City FC Blastoff Battle, Tormenta FC returns to Tormenta Stadium to face Jacksonville University on February 24, 2024. South Georgia will finish their 2024 preseason on March 2, 2024 when they face USL Championship side, Charleston Battery.
