STATESBORO, Ga. – April 25, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC adds defender Briana Eads to bolster the backline for the 2024 USL W League season. She joins South Georgia after wrapping up her collegiate career at the University of North Alabama, where she played one year after transferring from Jacksonville State University.
Eads expressed her excitement about joining the team, “I am thrilled to be a part of Tormenta FC in the upcoming season. By joining this team, I am excited to train in a new environment surrounded by others who desire to become elite soccer players. I cannot wait to start the season and take the next step in my soccer career.”
The defender began her collegiate career at Jacksonville State University and started in all 64 matches she played for Jacksonville’s Gamecocks. She scored two goals and provided two assists during her impressive 5,675 minutes on the pitch.
Eads then took her talents to the University of North Alabama, starting all 22 matches and aiding the backline and the rest of the team to the conference final. During her single season with the Lions, she was named to the ASUN All-Conference Third team, ASUN Conference Tournament team, as well as the CSC Academic All-District team, and earned one ASUN Defender of the Week award.
“Briana brings 86 starts as a centerback at the NCAA DI level to Tormenta FC this summer. Her experience, combined with her confidence on both sides of the ball, will be important for us as we enter a new division this summer.” Head Coach Jim Robbins expressed. “Briana also has a great left foot and is a very accurate passer over all the distances. She can dribble out of the back when needed, which will bring a different dimension to our attack this year.”
