Statesboro, Ga. – April 29, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC has added another scorer to the team in left-winger Carlyn Presley, who is set to join pending league and federation approval.
“I am very excited about the opportunity to play at Tormenta FC this summer,” Presley said. “I can’t wait to be a part of this community that is committed to developing a winning environment. This is a great opportunity to grow both as a person and a player, as well as meet some awesome people along the way.”
Presley will join the W League team in the coming weeks after spending her last two years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). Last season was Presley’s strongest yet as she received C-USA All-Conference Second-Team Honors, tallying a team-best six goals along with two assists. Before Presley made the successful transition to UAB, she started off at the University of Tennessee, where she made four appearances.
Head Coach Jim Robbins talked about his newest winger, saying, “Carlyn is a quick, athletic wide player who enjoys taking on defenders and getting herself to goal. She is very good at breaking defenders down in the 1v1 duel. She can also provide the final pass or score on her own. I am confident that she will prove tough to defend and will score or supply plenty of goals this summer. I look forward to watching her attack some outside backs this season.”
