STATESBORO, Ga. – May 19, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC is thrilled to announce the signing of winger Courtney Chochol, pending league and federation approval. She joins the club following her fourth season at Quinnipiac University.
“I am super excited to join Tormenta this summer,” Chochol said. “I feel like this experience will provide a highly competitive environment that will allow me to grow as a player on and off the pitch. I am looking forward to what the next two months will bring and hope to help bring home a trophy.”
During her career with the Bobcats, Chochol has started 55 out of the 64 matches, netting 20 goals and providing 29 assists.
Chochol’s best season came in 2023, when she scored 10 goals and assisted nine goals. Her performances led the conference in points and assists, earning her a spot on the 2023 All-MAAC First Team. She was also named to the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association’s DI All-New England third team.
“Courtney brings a unique combination of size, speed, strength, and proven goal-scoring ability at the NCAA D1 level to our team this summer,” Head Coach Jim Robbins said. “In addition to being a goal-scoring threat every time she touches the ball, she can also play the provider and supply quality final passes for others to finish. Her ability to play up top or out wide and still score goals will prove difficult to defend. She will be a handful for any defender to deal with this summer.”
