STATESBORO, Ga. – June 18, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC’s Jake Dengler has been named to the USL League One Team of the Week bench for week 11. Dengler captained the team during Saturday’s match on ESPN2 and played in the middle of a three-center back setup.
Dengler was a standout defender across League One this weekend, playing a crucial role in a 0-0 draw on the road to Forward Madison FC. The 2022 USL League One champion won 100% of his tackles during the 90 minutes he played on Saturday. He also made five clearances, two headed clearances, and three interceptions. Dengler also won three ground duels and three aerial duels.
As a distributor of the ball, Dengler completed 76% of his passes, including seven passes into the final third. He also created one goal-scoring chance.
