STATESBORO, Ga. – AUGUST 6, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC will travel to Richmond, Virginia to take on the Richmond Kickers at 7:00 p.m. on August 10 at City Stadium.
Recipe Review
Tormenta FC comes into Saturday’s match following a 3-3 draw with Spokane Velocity. This match was the first time the two teams had gone head-to-head. Richmond enters the match following a 3-1 loss to Northern Colorado Hailstorm.
Key Ingredients
Aaron Walker, South Georgia’s newest signing, scored a rocket of a goal against Spokane Velocity. The goal was his first of the season with South Georgia. Walker, who has quickly assimilated into Tormenta’s strategy, has proven himself to be invaluable on the pitch.
Tormenta’s Pedro Fonseca, who was recently in the running for USL League One’s Player of the Month honors, also earned a goal against Spokane. Fonseca’s goal marked the second match in a row where he found the back of the net, showcasing his threat to keepers.
Foe’s Formula
Former Tormenta player Nil Vinyals has become an asset for the Kickers. Vinyals scored the lone goal in their last match against Northern Colorado Hailstorm. Head Coach Ian Cameron will look to Tormenta’s midfield and defensive line to keep Vinyals at bay.
