STATESBORO, Ga. – August 16, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC is proud to announce its inaugural class of college ambassadors, Trishell Kimani, Miles Rollins, and Chloe Holton. These vibrant, young students attend Georgia Southern University.
This college ambassador program marks the first program of its kind in USL League One.
Tormenta FC’s new college ambassador program aims to bridge the gap between professional soccer and college campus communities in Statesboro. As Statesboro has a flourishing college-aged population, this partnership between South Georgia and the three ambassadors came quite naturally.
“Georgia Southern University, alongside the other area colleges and universities, are in no small part, what makes Statesboro such a special place, so we want to celebrate and champion these students by giving them opportunities to engage authentically with the club to create lasting memories,” President and Co-Owner Darin Van Tassell said.
The college ambassador program enables students to create content at matches, sell tickets to their peers, and gain real-world, hands-on experience in sports marketing, while receiving exclusive benefits and access to the club.
Founded in 2015, Tormenta FC is a professional soccer club based in Statesboro, Georgia. Tormenta FC competes in the professional USL League One and the pre-professional USL W League, under the United Soccer League (USL), and has also established a thriving academy system throughout South Georgia and the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
