After a tough exit from the 2025 U.S. Open Cup, South Georgia Tormenta FC shifts its focus back to league play, hitting the road to take on Charlotte Independence this Sunday, April 20, at 4:00 p.m. at American Legion Memorial Stadium.
Currently sitting fifth in the USL League One standings, Tormenta has a prime opportunity to leap into third place with a win. A victory would also mark the club’s first back-to-back regular season wins of the year, following an electric 2-1 home performance over Portland Hearts of Pine on April 12.
Goalkeeper Austin Pack earned Team of the Week honors after a clutch toe-tip penalty save in that match — a stop that not only made the Save of the Week shortlist, but also helped hand Portland the first loss in club history. Another big showing from Pack could be crucial as Tormenta faces a talented Charlotte side.
Midfielder Mason Tunbridge continued his hot streak, adding to his 2025 goal tally with a composed first-half finish last weekend. The Englishman has become a go-to threat in key moments, and Charlotte will need to keep a close eye on him.
Watch live on ESPN+ and mark your calendars for next Saturday, April 26, as Tormenta returns home for Paws and Claws Night vs. Greenville Triumph SC. Bring your pup, support the Humane Society of Bulloch County and enjoy the action.
